"All of our righteous acts are like filthy rags." Isaiah 64:6
Our good deeds never outweigh our sins. The literal translation of filthy rags in this verse means "menstrual garments."
Wow. I've been chewing on this throughout the week. How disgusting even my righteous acts are when put in perspective of our Holy Father above.
Seriously hit home. Somehow along the way I feel as if I am doing better, talking better, dressing more appropriately, etc.
My "righteous deeds" mean absolutely nothing in light of the ONE who is RIGHTEOUS, PURE, and PERFECTLY HOLY.
Who am I to say I am doing better than anyone else out there?
Thank You Father for your love poured out upon us despite of knowing fully who we are deep down to our filthy core.
